WEEKEND IN NAPA VALLEY

June 12, 2017

Napa can be done many ways and tailored specifically to what you enjoy to drink, eat and do. We love Napa and so does our pup! We ended up bringing her on this trip, so I can give you some dog friendly pointers as well.

Favorite Wineries & Tasting Rooms:

  • William Hill Estate in Napa: Their tasting room is located in the center of the rolling hills of Napa. Gorgeous views surround the property and you can walk through the vines to different locations in the vineyard. We did a tasting with two whites and two reds, which was nice because we were only familiar with their reds. I learned I will be buying their Chardonnays more often!

  • Domaine Carneros in Napa: The balcony at their beautiful chateau is the perfect spot to sip some sparkling wine, which are crisp and delicious. This is one of the most beautiful locations in all of Napa Valley and looks like something from a storybook.

  • Hall Wines in St. Helena: Amazing views from their rooftop patio. Their winery has some very chic artwork that tastefully catches you by surprise. We both agreed, their cabernet sauvignon is some of the best we have ever tasted.

  • Honig Vineyard & Winery in St. Helena: Lovely venue with very friendly hosts. We buy their cabernet regularly, but were surprised by their dessert wine, which is amazing and not too sweet. They also have great coffee table books - always a plus!

  • Stewart Cellars in Yountville: The modern rustic style of this tasting room and patio is amazing. They have three buildings on the property, a beautiful tasting room with lofted ceilings, a wine library and a cafe. The salads and green juice at the cafe are made on the spot and very refreshing.

Although Napa is known for its wine, we ate some delicious food here as well. Below are a few of our favorites!

Pro-tip: Stay at the North Block Hotel in Yountville. It is perfectly situated halfway between St. Helena and Napa, making it the easiest place to stay if you want to visit wineries in the northern and southern part of the valley. Also, they are very dog friendly and provided our dog with a bed, dog bowls, treats and a new toy!
