This Tuesday Travel Tip of the week is all about staying hydrated when you travel. I decided to share with you four of my tricks to lessen the effects of jet lag, keep your skin looking hydrated and maintain energy while traveling just by drinking water!
Bring a bottle of water with you on the airplane. Airlines might give you 1 or 2 tiny cups of water while you are flying, but if you are on an 8 or 10 hour flight that isn't very much. You likely drink more than 2 small cups of water on a usual day at home.
When we are on vacation, we tend to consume new foods that might be saltier or sweeter than our usual routine. It is not customary for restaurants in many countries to automatically give you water with your meal, so sometimes you have to ask your waiter or waitress to bring you a bottle. This is a good habit to get into to stay hydrated throughout the day.
When you get to your destination, rather than pay $12 for a single bottle of water in your room, swing by a local market or grocery and pick up several large bottles for much less. This is especially important if you are in a country
We have all heard how coffee and alcohol dehydrates you, so I always try to drink the same amount of water as I have consumed of other beverages. (Try being the keyword here.) This is not a scientific method, it just helps me to gauge how much H2O I should drink after a boozy brunch or night out.
Getting out of your usual routine can be hard on your body so when you are away, try to stay as close as you can to what you normally do as far as food and water are concerned!
