Need a vacation, but don't know where to go? Since we are already half way through the summer, it is always good to think ahead and make plans for a break during the fall season. Below are a few of my top suggestions for travel for this fall!
CITY: NEW YORK
The air is a little crisper in the mornings as the city wakes up. The trees start to change their color so go for a stroll in Central Park or take a bike ride along the Hudson River Greenway. In the fall, there are so many unique events happening in New York, so I gathered a few of the major ones that are fun to attend as a participant or just to people watch!
This beautiful island in the Caribbean has everything you could want in a beach vacation. From kitesurfing to windsurfing, gourmet eateries to casual bbq, and horseback riding to sailing on the open sea. Here are my top activities in Aruba:
Dinner at Faro Blanco by the lighthouse
Horseback riding on the beach
A day at the Hyatt Regency Spa
Dinner at Smokey Joe's
COUNTRY: LAKE MICHIGAN
No matter which state you are visiting from Lake Michigan in the fall is beautiful. It is still warm enough that you can go for a boat ride out on the water or build a campfire and soak in the sunset.
Wisconsin: Eat dinner overlooking the lake in Milwaukee at Harbor House
Illinois: Rent Divvy bikes in Chicago and make your way through Museum Campus all the way up to Wrigleyville
Indiana: Spend a day exploring the Indiana Dunes
Michigan: Go for a hike at Sleeping Bear Dunes
Going to Paris is always a good idea, but it especially lovely in the fall. Since it is fairly easy to walk everywhere, the fall season brings warm colors to the city, which accentuates the beautiful architecture. A few of my favorite activities in the fall include:
Walking through the Tuileries Gardens
Take a trip to Versailles
Visit Montmartre (the Montmartre Grape Harvest Festival also takes place in October here)
Watch the sunrise behind the Eiffel Tower from Trocadéro Gardens
