Located north of LA and south of San Francisco, Santa Barbara is the perfect blend of both. Speckled with Spanish Colonial style houses, this coastal city has much to offer from delicious food to scenic bike rides. There are plenty of activities perfect for the foodie, the family or the friends looking for a weekend getaway.
Somerset: Inspired by an old world european cafe, where the patio is equally as exquisite as the interior. The cocktails are creative and the scallops are scrumptious. Do yourself a favor and check out Somerset, you won't regret it!
Loquita: Find top-notch tapas dishes and authentic Paella at Loquita. Their imported Spanish wines and lovely patio transport you back to Spain instantly.
The Lark: A Santa Barbara favorite located in the Funk Zone. The menu has interesting flavor combinations presented in artistic arrangements. I highly recommend sharing everything so you can try all of the delicious plates. We asked for a local wine recommendation and they were happy to oblige us with a 2014 Merlot from Roark Wine Company. Because this place is so popular, be prepared to wait a bit even if you have a reservation, but feel free to grab a drink at the bar while you wait to be seated.

BEST THING TO DO WITH KIDS
Bike along the boardwalk: Most hotels in Santa Barbara have bikes that you can rent. There are also various bike shops near the water where you can rent them for kids and adults.
FAVORITE PLACE TO GET A GLASS OF WINE
Oreana Winery & Marketplace: If you have ever seen the wine bottle with the big smiley face on it, you were looking at an Oreana Wine! They converted an old tire shop into a wine tasting room that often has live music on weekends. A company with spirit for entertaining, you can read more about their unique story here.
FAVORITE PLACE TO GET A BEER
Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co: They have 5 taprooms scattered in and around Santa Barbara. This is the perfect place to grab a beer before or after dinner at The Lark. They have live music and a nice patio space at their Santa Barbara location. Also, they are dog friendly, which is always a plus!
FAVORITE THING TO DO WITH YOU DOG!
The Harbor: Walk the boardwalk all the way to the end, then if your dog is feeling really adventurous, follow the narrow cement path to the sand bar that sits across from the main beach in Santa Barbara.
